we loved the hotel but parking was difficult in allocated spaces because of cars parked on other side of road but this problem not unique to your hotel
Clearly the Hotel has been renovated to a fairly high standard. It took me a while to work out how to operate the Air Con/Heating and tv remotes but got there in the end!
Very pleasant room and excellent food
install a proper heatingsystem and I might come back!
Room too cold and not clean
The room had been well modernised and teh staff were freindly and helpful.
very nice neat and clean room with all modern amenities, very comfortable beds, very good bath room, overall it was a pleasure in staying there.
Excellent stay and unexpectedly good. Nicely renovated good breakfast and brilliant value for money
The attention to detail in the layout and furniture in the room
The room was small, but the layout made it a very useable space
Great location and recently renovated so decor was very fresh and tasteful, but still retaining the character and atmosphere of an old established town centre hotel.
Car parking is a problem, even trying to park briefly in order to call into reception to enquire about parking. Requested early morning call and breakfast did not materialise, so there must be a breakdown in communication even though I had requested this service from 2 different members of staff.Therefoe the rate I paid was bad value.
Room was nicely decorated, comfortable and bathroom very clean. Hotel staff was excellent! Friendly and professional. Complementary continental breakfast was simple but good. The choice to upgrade to hot breakfast was nice and worth taking if you like bigger breakfast. We also had dinner in their restaurant one evening and found the food really tasty. The quality and speed of service was also highly appreciated by us. All in all we highly recommend this hotel!
very comfortable and friendly
big drench shower was very noisy when neighbour was using it. it also wastes huge amounts of water. best to remove - small shower is adequate.
We found the room very comfortable and enjoyed two good evening meals. The continental breakfasts were satisfactory although there was less choice when eating later. The croissant were particularly good.
I was disappointed that no shampoo was provided as it was the first time that I had not brought my own to a hotel.
The hotel was very comfortable, this includes the rooms and the public areas. Staff are very friendly and the Lancashire breakfast is excellent value. The rooms are clean and very well furnished, the only downside was parking, if you didn;t book in advance you have to park away from the hotel.
Very helpful staff and a lovely, modern hotel. As I was with my elderly grandmother, the fact that the shower was like a modern wet room, and so you could simply walk straight into it, was really beneficial. Therefore, even though the hotel is modern and 'trendy', it was also suitable for elderly people. Plus it had a lift to help with this,
The parking arrangements are not for the faint hearted - tricky to negotiate - although I appreciate that parking in city centres is always an issue.
Great idea to update grand old pub into pub-with-rooms (and it really is a splendid building right on the canal at the 'top' of town). Room was well designed, bathroom modern but compact. Lovely shower!
Our room was poorly ventilated. Air conditioning is provided as the windows don't open, but we thought the fresh air supply into the hotel inadequate - the stairs are stiflingly stuffy.
